Wesley Parks
Wesley is a member of the OvalOptions panel and an attorney-mediator who specializes in family law, landlord-tenant, property, contract, small claims and neighbor disputes. His law practice focuses on family law, bankruptcy, civil litigation and mediation.
Wesley’s interest and training in mediation began in law school. He was inspired to pursue mediation after realizing that it is often a better way to resolve disputes when compared to litigation. Today, he shares his passion for mediation with the next generation of lawyers as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law where he teaches courses in alternative dispute resolution and mediation and negotiation.
In addition to performing private mediations through Cohen & Cohen, P.C., and teaching, Wesley emphasizes the importance of mediation in the law through presentations and publications to the legal community. He also volunteers for Jefferson County Mediation Services, Court Mediation Services in Denver and the Colorado Office of Dispute Resolution.
Wesley earned his bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of Missouri in Kansas City and his law degree from the University of Montana School of Law. He received the State Bar of Montana’s Carol Mitchell Award for Clinical Excellence in Mediation in 2013 and a Rising Stars Designation from SuperLawyers in 2020.
